Shuukan – The Universe! – September 14, 2014

logo haiku shuukanFirst of all let’s look at Chèvrefeulle’s haiku examples:

Orion’s Belt
brighter than ever
in a moonless night

in a moonless night
wandering over the heath –
the Milky Way

the Milky Way
a path of thousand stars –
like a river

vastness of space
the void inside man’s soul

ant’s in a row
voyage through the universe
running on the gravel

infinite stars
a tiny creature’s wonder
– being

the galaxy turns
in an infinite voyage
through our universe

Haiku – Creation June 25, 2014

Chèvrefeulle tells us:

It’s time for a new Ghost Writer (GW) post. The following GW-post is by Gillena Cox of Lunch Break and it was scheduled for May 2014, but there were circumstances which made that Gillena could not deliver it at time, so here is here belated GW-post with the prompt ”Creation”.

And this is what she’s written, inspiring us to write following the lead of Chiyo-ni:

When i read the biblical account in the book of Genesis of creation, i am confronted with the aspects of completion, satisfaction, and goodness; how unlike the reality of man’s stewardship, in our continuous and ongoing process of doing, crafting and tireless improving; when will we get it right or maybe the question is can we?

all things on earth
become beautiful

I read an interesting post by Rethinking Life which I invite you to go and look at and it got me to reflecting on something I’ve always been keenly aware.  We feel that we are terribly important, we’ve passed centuries creating myths and religions to prove this to ourselves, but each time I look up into a clear night sky, I can’t help but reflect, that we are of little or no consequence in the big story of the Universe.

the Universe keeps moving on
with or without humanity
the rivers flow, the rain falls down
and thinks nothing of our fate
and if by chance we ruin Earth
the planet will go on
we are just a moment
in eternity…though
we think we’re so much more.

Flowers of My Mind

flowers_ 2I’m no doctor

to give out prescriptions

just a poor poet

with impressionistic

like Van Gogh

I want no drawing outline

put in

to see the world.

I like its messy blur

of colors that fade into colors

for this is how I see the world

a symphony

of light!

I’ve yet to see

an atom

of happiness to draw

or justice for that matter…

emotions are a poets palette

but in the end

I know

that even here

emotions are

products of men’s souls

well…no not exactly

they’re real enough to me

in the indifferent

my lust and laws

are just

the flowers in my mind.
