The Wind – Morning Haiku and Waka – November 6, 2015

Wind and willow

Wind and willow

the wind
whispers in the willows
a lullaby

in the darkest hour
the wind’s caressing embrace
a touch of heaven

a lilting voice
the wind in the palms and trees
hear the sea’s song

Carpe Diem #851 Messenger of the Gods (wind)

Tokubetsudesu #54 – wind and moon tanka – July 29, 2015

the summer wind
calls across the lake
whispering softly
invitations to travel
ah – I long to follow

gulls fly overhead
drifting on the evening breeze
the moon rises
couples walk along the shore
far far away from winter

over the mountains
the moon smiles sweetly
her veil half raised
playing coyly with lovers
and love-sick poets

Monday Morning Haiku and Waka – November 24, 2014

Transformation collage

Transformation

slow evolution
from seed into red rose hips
moments of perfection

changing moments
a life an age – a world
– evolution

… and Wind Spirits:

on the sheets* they fly
whispering in tinging song
wind butterflies

wind sprites whisper
through the valley at night –
shaking windows

rippling waves
the Sylphs play on the lake –
sail boats seem to fly

In sailing, a sheet is a line (rope, cable or chain) used to control the movable corner(s) (clews) of a sail.

Acrostic – Khamseen

When spring comes to the Sahara
Ifrit in spirals fly through the sky
Nothing can be seen, when gritty sand flys
Dimming the sun itself …

When did the devils reach Europe
Ignoring the traditions of time
Now will we too have the Khamseen,
Driving us into our homes?

Wandering from it’s ancient home
Insistently blowing for days
Northern lands rocked by it’s might
Desert breeze visits our land.

Inspired by the acrostic about rain written by julesgemstonepages I wrote about our wind which has been blowing since Friday.

At The Akashic Library: A Visit to Shu

Yesterday, I had the crazy idea to go look up Shu, to see if he wouldn’t like to take a little trip to China to give my friend, Canadian Travelbugs a hand with her smog problem.  Having to deal daily with two Egyptian Goddesses should have warned me about asking favors from the Gods.  Alas… Continue reading
