Weekly Photo Challenge: Focus (1)

For this challenge, get out there and take a picture demonstrating the concept of focus. Depending on your skill level or type of camera, tinker with the manual settings, use the auto focus feature, or play around with an app. Some ideas:

Snap a photo of something or someone in focus, against a blurred background.
Share a panorama or landscape in sharp focus, in which you can see details far away.
Use a camera app to force focus (or blur) in an experimental way.
Take multiple photos of the same scene or subject using different aperture settings and publishing the results.

Last night a heavy rain storm beat down on Bolognano. Storms have a special fascination for me, and my problem, is: how do I convey that wonderful sensation of wind and rain. I decided (serendipitously I might add) that the trick might be in the focusing. Here are some of the photos I took yesterday evening.

It’s so hard to get good shots of rain – but you have manage very well. That color shot (rain storm) is brilliant. Thanks for “plingbacking” me.

      I had a big camera before – that is eating film – but I got so tired of have a full bag of lenses, so my little Canon is just perfect. It goes with me where ever I go – even to the supermarket.
      Hasselblad or not – my camera and I understand each other well.
      We also need a lot of luck in our cameras – just with my photo. 50% luck that I got it right – otherwise the moment would be gone for good.

I actually love my Olympus and it has lots of googaws, plus there’s alway the app, the only drawbacks are night photos and rain, now I think I’ve figured out rain…i alwo have my camera with me at all times, plus my phone (just a Nokia nothing fancy), which sometimes gets some pretty cool effects 🙂 …and thanks for the lovely compliments by the way.

      Now all my expensive and fancy lenses are not in use and even if I buy a new big the lenses will not fit. At least that is what I have heard.
      My phone is a Nokia 6310i – nearly 20 years old too. It only rings and I love it. Get stressed by the new smartphone.
