Casandra Speaks

Here, in our modern Gehenna,
The very bowels of hell rage …
Thanks to our Hedonistic morals
Hate spawns and rots our soul
The legacy of inflicting suffering
Has taken us to the precipice
of Ragnarök,
The battle ending all battles
Not even the Gods can win ..
The delicate balance of life undermined,
Our planet slowly disintegrates
Whilst the dirty propheteers strut …
But the shrapnel of their games
Will douse all their worldly gains.
Consuming beyond reason …
Egoism and prejudice consume us
And like so many addicts
We need our daily fix of “news” …
The last syringe filled with venom
Will hold our one word epitaph …
Overdose.

  1. Our daily fix of news, indeed — and nobody wins — you really CAN overdose! And I liked the merging of “prophet” and “profiteer” — it really works — spreading a vile story and a vile propaganda for profit — so much of what the news seems to be doing these days.

This is wonderful Georgia — I am bowing and sending a really nice batch of Captain Morgan-laced chocolate your way. Don’t indulge till you’re done writing though. 😉

    • Lol … at this moment … I might be able to use that chocolate to wake my muse up … in a moment of duldrums. Glad you liked the piece, I was a little hesitant to hit that publish button with this one.

  4. Wow! Seems a little trite I know. You have described society, focusing on the darkness. Right now, can there be light
