Do fairies fly in soft lofty shadows
Far above the lost forgotten door,
Where Puff the Magic Dragon passed
With the brother’s Grimm and Anderson?
Old dust brushed frost on my lost toys
There with a forgotten hop-scotch pattern –
Ah, soft as a sigh I see them now,
Waiting for me, in my mind’s eye.
My youthful games come back to me
Hidden in thoughts of hoary glossed frost –
Though autumn fills my mind with musty dust
The song of childhood calls to my soul.
(c) G.s.k. ’14
§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§
The Words: fly, dust, song, puff, frost, fairies, soft, door, lost, toy
The Twist:
Part two is the addition of three extra words that are near-rhymes (frost, soft, dust). Part three is mention a child’s game in your poem.
So beautifully done. Nostalgic, sentimental – just stunning right!

I need to get off my backside some day and join in …. [sigh] … but have been struggling a bit lately.
Some day. Some day.
You always do these so well.

Do I know something about struggling … but I try to get up a couple of haiku and then do at least the wordles … and if possible a photo blog. But I’m having trouble keeping up.

Know the feeling. Some days there’s a sinking feeling of panic — and I think — um, isn’t this supposed to be fun???
Gave up for a while this evening and got the Christmas wrapping done, and a bunch of cards addressed. And the lights up. Then tried writing again.
When the prompts all land at once I feel a bit weirded out!
Decided that CDHK is the only “must-do”. Everything else is gravy. (Except BJS&B of course.) 😉

Which reminds me .. I better get the choka draft ready.

I wouldn’t worry .. there are oodles of things I don’t do, just impossible besides if I’m not particularly fond of the prompt … it gets “forgotten” 🙂
