Yesterday
the heat finally became unbearable, it was impossible to sit at the computer, even in the morning, as it was far too hot, leaving no alternative but to seek the coolness of the lake …

I’m glad you have a escape from the heat. Blazing heat in the city is unbearable.

It’s been pretty bad but thankfully we don’t live in a city! Thanks Suzanne.

Ugh … miserable indeed! But I’m glad you got out.
You’re really running with these ichibun /// one-bun. Brava!

It is … every day around eleven the wind comes up off the lake … it can get so cold you need to put on a long-sleeved shirt!

Oh, that sounds like what I could use some of — a cool breeze. 🙂

In Italy, most people don’t have AC in their homes … at best we use fans … so it’s really a boon having that breeze come off the lake, believe me!

It really sounds very nice — I love the water, anyway. 🙂

It is fantastic … there have been days I’ve had to take a short walk into Riva’s centre to warm up a little it was so cold.

Nice – simplicity at it’s best, like it always should be in haiku-

Very lovely–I empathize with the unbearable heat issue, though we’re hoping for a cool down and some RAIN. Glad you had the lake–hope you took me with you in spirit!

Not quite yet–but I have renewed hope: forecast says Sun or Mon we should get a few drops!

How terrible for you … let’s hope it’s a bit more than a few drops!

It’s a more serious situation east of the mountains–bad wild fires. So I should be grateful that I’ve been merely uncomfortable, not worried about losing my home.

That’s one of the most terrifying aspects of hot dry weather … usually we have a similar problem in Italy (not in our region though, fortunately) as well … not yet though so we’ll keep our fingers crossed.

I’ve never experienced them first-hand–but I was stunned when my cousin, who lives in Texas, told me they were getting smoke all the way down from Canada. That is Scary!!

I’ve lived near them off and on all my life. I still remember a great forest fire in New Jersey when i was around 8 and the smoke filled sky …

Beautiful image. It is freezing here in New Zealand. I would gladly take some of the heat of you.
