here and now
the sound of gravel swishing
a gull cries
golden light
colouring the barren tree
as darkness grows
thoughts like leaves swirl
in the silent wind of time
cooking dinner
cleaning swiss-chard and leeks
stirring the rice
here no past – no future
only veggies and rice

I am in the kitchen right now. The fragrances are divine and the view is too!

No problem – in a sense this is very proper as my new year on earth begins in February (my birth month) 😉

it actually isn’t hard .. it’s a question of attitude or perspective actually.

Love the series and photo. The last one made me realize when I am cooking I am able to be present and worry less. Guess I’ll keep on cooking 🙂

It’s odd but often these little tasks can keep us very centred in our here and now … in a Zen-do people do za-zen but they also do a form of meditative walking and of course they clean the grounds and cook .. all this is part of mediation … not just the za-zen (sitting down meditating).

Often I work things out in my mind. Better then just sitting. It’s a bit like walking. Although I chant my mantra when I walk

🙂 I think the idea is not to thing about things … that’s what I wind up doing when I wash dishes though …

Yeah, but at least I sort them out and when I finish the dishes I feel liberated.
