its about a newly emerging poppy plant waiting to emerge after winter, trying not to pop up too soon. The photo is of the original plant a few years ago. My little leaves are only up three or four inches…this is northern Ohio, and mid-March is jumping the gun by a couple of months. 🙂

the one in the picture was actually an ancestor of the those getting ready now. 🙂 It’s early, I think the poppies bloom in May.

Yes, I think I did read that somewhere. Here the poppies start blooming in late April, but I believe our climate it a tad warmer than in Ohio … or maybe the warmth arrives a little earlier.
