the ferry left me
here on the morning shore
I wish I were there
just travelling – anywhere
my gypsy youth’s calling me
§§§
morning at the lake
sailboats and the ferry leave –
the gulls keen farewell
§§§
wanderlust strikes me
this bright autumn morning
– mountain enclosure
winter thoughts …
dawn mountains disappear
the world lies silent
There’s nothing quite so lovely as a cold winter morning with a dusting of snow. As long as the furnace is working and I don’t have to drive anywhere on icy roads! Hot chocolate helps too. 😉

Glad you visited this morning … I’m really in the mood to get a ticket to ride … just anywhere and that’s so much how I was when I was younger.

How I envy you for those sweet memories…I was engaged at 16 but did live it up for a few years in my mid 40’s:) Hey! maybe that’s why I feel so young [wink}

Shoot, I got married at 18 minus two months … but we travelled a lot.

In many many ways actually. I’m often surprised at how many things we’ve got in common.

Ah yes … but I’d begun travelling the world from birth. Never had a home or stuff like that. Two sides of the coin I guess.

I always get really restless in autumn too. I often feel like driving off into the sunset. Maybe it’s that sense that winter is coming and things will soon be closing in that causes it.

You might be right about the autumn — maybe we have an inner voice like the snow birds do that calls us to migrate 😉

A voyage through a year – physically and metaphorically. Have been with my hubby since I was 19 and really wish I’d taken the time to know myself first — and to travel — had only barely begun to explore the world, really. Would love to just get up and GO somewhere. Anywhere. By myself for a while.

Know the feeling, I really do. I sometimes think it would be just too great to just get up and Go … and as you be be by myself for a while.
