Today on Carpe Diem Haiku Kai, Managua Gunn is the ghost writer of the week. Please follow the link to discover the wonderful adventure he had whilst walking through the woods of Finland!
A simple greeting “Salem Aleikum” opened a window for him towards an exchange of friendship inspiring me to write these haiku.
salem aleikum
may you walk your path in peace
mash’allah effendi
desert winds – tundra
we walk the earth seeking peace
love binds us as one
may our hearts unite
under the bright sun and stars
we are one people
If only, if only this could come true. Wonderful words. They breath life and beauty.

Thanks Melanie. I agree with you life is so short it is really a shame that we waste even a moment on hatred and prejudice. Thanks for your comment, Bastet

Thanks…I was afraid that the title would put people off…and in fact I got less reads than usual. I do so hope that people start getting over their Islamic phobia (and Christian phobia etc) soon.

Salem alaikum, Grüß Gott, or Peace be with you. What a better greeting than such a prayer exists, I wonder?
And the following lines match, letter for letter.
